Dance Happenings next printed Summer Issue deadline (Sept. 15, 2007). Main season deadlines are normally 20 days prior to publication date: Oct. 1, Feb.1 -- listings are pertinent to Performances & Events, Classes, Workshops and Callboard. A listing identical to a previous one may be submitted by sending an email identifying precisely the listing you wish to have repeated in the upcoming issue. We apologize for instituting a form, but ubiquitous irregularity in submission formatting necessitated its implementation.
When using this submission form, please remember that it is for a free listing (up to 100 words), in a freely distributed publication and online service. DCO resources are allocated so as to keep it that way. This means that DCO lacks the resources to proof all submissions or 2nd guess curious entries. You will be copied on your submission when it's posted. It's then your responsibility to proof and approve or amend it. Printed listings are cloned from posted ones, so one proofing only is required. Not all fields in this form may be pertinent to your listing, but please take care to make it as accurate and complete as possible, better serving your audience or clientele.
Regarding the 100-word limit, please read carefully. Any dance-related performance or event may be submitted by anyone (member or non-member). Members only may submit items for listing as Classes, Workshops or Callboard postings. Membership is easy and affordable. There is no limit to the number of submissions and there is no limit to the length of submissions. However, once the total aggregate word-count for ones combined total submissions reaches 100 (per issue), a $10 surcharge is imposed for each additional 100 words beyond the first 100 words. Also, there are no stylistic or aesthetic limitations as to the submissions we accept. And, though many of our listings are genuinely exotic in their cosmopolitan cultural scope, as for so-called Exotic dancing in the more commonly commercial sense, we trust the natural control mechanisms of market discipline to effectively insulate us, as they have seemingly done thus far, from any potentially embarrassing censorship dilemma associated with the genre and its affiliate enterprises.
